Welcome to the Registrar’s Page for Dommerich Elementary School. On this page, you will find everything you need to guide you through the enrollment (registration), withdrawal, or transfer process for your student. This page also contains information about the requirements for starting Kindergarten and the required verification of residence for ridsing 6th grade (current 5th grade) students.

  • Enrollment Process

     

    Here are the steps to follow to complete the registration process. All the documentation needs to be sent in order for us to process the registration. 

    Please send all documentation and completed registration packet to Teaonda.Hinton@ocps.net.

    • Steps to follow:
      • Parent/guardian must complete the registration packet and provide the documentation listed below. This link takes you to the Registration Packets page to download and complete a registration packet and save to your computer. Do not fill out in Chrome, use Adobe Reader only.
        • Steps to take: 
          • Save blank registration packet to your computer
          • Open saved document
          • Fill in blanks
          • Save completed registration packet to upload later
          • Damilies will save, scan, and/or take pictures of the required documents and upload to send to Teaonda.Hinton@ocps.net
      • Required documentation to send to school
        • Completed Registration Packet
        • Vaccination Record on FL680 form and proof of physical within last year by a U.S. doctor within a year of enrollment (first day of entry at school)
        • Academic History (transcript and/or last report card)
        • Special Education Info (IEP, 504, etc.)
        • Government Picture ID for Registering Parent (Driver’s license, passport, etc.)
        • Birth Certificate

     Notice About Providing False Information

    Orange County Public Schools has the right to verify any information provided by the student and/or parent(s). A student whose parent(s) submit fraudulent information in an attempt to attend a school to which the student is not assigned shall be immediately withdrawn by the school and must be registered and enrolled in the appropriate zoned school. Whoever knowingly makes a false statement in writing with intent to mislead a public servant in the performance of his or her official duty, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable by law (F.S. 837.06) or guilty of perjury by false written declaration, a felony of the third degree (F.S. 92.525). 

  • Withdrawal & Transfer Information


    We are sorry to see you go. Please click the link below to download the withdrawal form. The completed form, along with a copy of the Parent/Legal Guardian’s Photo ID, can be emailed to to Teaonda.Hinton@ocps.net.

  • Transfers

    OCPS allows parents and guardians to apply for their child to attend a school other than their zoned school. The types of transfers, their criteria and the steps to apply for that transfer, can be found on the Office of Student Enrollment's Transfer Page.

    Transfers are based on School Board Policy JCA. You may review the entire policy here: School Board Policies.

  • Kindergarten Requirements

    • To enter kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before September 1.
    • You must have proof of physical examination by a U.S. doctor within a year of enrollment (first day of entry at school).
    • You must have proof of immunizations on a Form 680, which can be obtained from your doctor's office or at The Orange County Health Department.

  • Verification of Residence

    Parents,

    In an effort to ensure all student's records are accurate and up to date, the OCPS Office of Student Enrollment is requiring that parents of rising 6th grade (current 5th grade) students provide updated current proof of residence to Dommerich Elementary School. The documentation must be provided to the school by close of business on April 18, 2025.

    Failure to provide updated verification of residence will result in your 
    child's WITHDRAWAL from OCPS and you risk your student not having a schedule for the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

    To verify your address, you must provide certain required documents based on your living situation. Please click the following link to complete the Verification of Residence Google Form:

Our registrar, Taeonda Hinton, is available to assist incoming families with the registration process. She is available Monday-Friday from 8:00am – 4:00pm. If you have specific registration questions, please reach out to her by phone or email.

Required Documents

  • Official Birth Certificate

    • A duly attested transcript of the child’s birth record filed according to law with a public officer charged with the duty of recording births.
       

    OR

     

    Passport

    • A passport or certificate of arrival in the U.S. showing the name of the child.
       

    NOTE: Under no circumstances shall staff request a passport, visa, or any other documentation to verify the immigration status of any student.

  • Birth Certificate or Passport*
     

    • To enter kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before September 1.
    • To enter first grade, a child must be 6 years old on or before September 1, and have completed kindergarten.
       

    *Other forms of age verification are permissible under Section 1003.21, Florida Statues

  • Proof of physical examination by a U.S. doctor within a year of enrollment (first day of entry at school).

     

    AND

     

    Proof of immunizations on a Form 680 (obtained from your doctor’s office or the Orange County Health Department.)

    *Students may attend school without a Florida Certificate of Immunization if they have a: 

    • Religious Exemption (Form DH 681)
    • Temporary Exemption (Form DH 680, Part B)
    • Medical Exemption (Form DH680, Part C)​​​​
  • Transcript, withdrawal form or last report card

  • Current IEP or 504 Plan

  • Enrollment takes place at the school with the school registrar if you have the following as proof of residence, at a minimum:
     

    • Own Home/Mortgage: Provide the current homestead exemption card, current property tax statement, closing contract, or warranty deed along with current utility bill, ID with current address, and current mail as your proof of residence.
       
    • Rent/Lease: Provide the current signed lease, ID with current address, current utility bill, rent payments, current mail, and renters insurance as your proof of residence.
       

    The following situations require a Verification of Residence obtained from the Office of Student Enrollment BEFORE enrolling at the school.
     

    • Living with someone who owns or rents the home:
       

    If you don’t have a lease or own your own home (share housing with someone else) you must obtain a Verification of Residence from Student Enrollment as your proof of residence by providing a minimum of the following documents:

    • Parent or Guardian's Florida driver's license or state ID showing the current correct address.
    • Another three (3) items in the Parent or Guardian's name showing the current address, such as: auto registration, current mail, bank statement, insurance, phone bill, or current pay stub.
    • Homeowner or Lessee's driver's license or state ID, homestead exemption card, property tax information, or signed lease agreement.
    • More documentation may be required depending on circumstances in a case-by-case situation.

  • Birth certificate

    If applicable, you must provide one of the following:
     

    • Court Custody Documentation (this includes divorce decrees)
    • OCPS Educational Guardianship: This documentation is provided by the Office of Student Enrollment when the parent/guardian lives outside of Orange County or adjacent counties of Brevard, Osceola, Polk, Lake, Seminole, and Volusia).

How to Enroll

Welcome to our school!

We are happy for you join our school family. Below you will find the list of required documents necessary to enroll within Orange County Public Schools. Once you have gathered all the necessary documents and completed the registration packet, you will be able to register here at the school.

Please pay special attention to the requirements for Verification of Residence and Verification of Guardianship. For some families, it may be necessary to visit the Office of Student Enrollment to receive the proper documentation BEFORE registering here at the school.
