Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Dommerich's 2022-2023
Teacher of the Year, Jessica Fratrik!

I am so honored to be chosen as the 2022-2023 Dommerich Teacher of the Year.  I have been a part of the Dommerich school family for a little over fourteen years.  I began my time here as a CHILL counselor in 2008.  I remained in that role until 2018 at which time I was brought on as the School Counselor.  I spend each day supporting little children with big feelings and I could not be happier.  I also have the pleasure of visiting classrooms during the year to teach important life skills.  I am so lucky to be able to interact with each and every Dommerich student on some level during their time here.

I graduated with a master’s degree in social work from Florida State University and am a licensed clinical social worker.  Prior to working at Dommerich, I was an outpatient mental health therapist for children and adolescents in Virginia and then Kentucky.  I began my career working in a school-based counseling program, as well as a program supporting adolescents who struggled with substance abuse issues.

I have been married for 21 years to my high school sweetheart who is a teacher and basketball coach.  We have two amazing children ages ten and fourteen.  I love spending time with my family and attend many, many basketball games where my kids and I cheer on my husband and his team.
