Learn About Our Orchestra Program

Students in 4th and 5th grade have an opportunity to enroll in our Orchestra course.  In this beginning orchestra course, students learn proper hand position, bowing styles, tone, quality, aural skills, intonation, instrument technique, music reading, listening skills, ensemble playing, and teamwork.  Within this curriculum, students can expect to perform a varied repertoire of music.  Students will also learn appropriate rehearsal and concert etiquette.

You will be required to rent an instrument for this course.  If you are not financially able to do so, an instrument will be provided to you.   Rental information and instrument sizing will occur during the first week of classes. The average cost for instrument rental is $25.00 per month.

Please note: Enrollment is limited to 25 students.  If a greater number sign up, 25 students will be selected by lottery.   You will be notified if your child is selected.  (5th graders who played in 4th grade are guaranteed a spot once the application is turned in.)
